    A tenor vocalist, Master Sgt. William Gabbard is the tenor section leader of the U.S. Army Field Band's Soldiers' Chorus. Gabbard, who has served with the Field Band since 1987, plans to retire in three to five years. One of the career options he is considering after retirement is teaching. "I am interested in the field of vocal and or choral music," he said. Gabbard, who has taught music at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, recently joined the adjunct music faculty at Anne Arundel Community College. Gabbard was one of more than 30 service members to attend a Troops to Teachers seminar on Nov. 20 at McGill Training Center. The seminar was sponsored by Fort Meade's Army Education Services Division, which provides adult continuing education programs and services for active-duty service members and Reservists assigned to or living near Fort Meade.
