    Carol SalvesonCarol Salveson, 54, was not expecting such a turnout at her office Wednesday morning.

    When what she thought was a gathering of coworkers grew to include local principals and the Natrona County High School color guard, she worried she hadn't cooked enough food.

    Salveson, a vocational teacher for special needs students in the Natrona County School District, was honored by the Troops to Teachers program for her seven years of service as a teacher Wednesday. Troops to Teachers was established in 1994 as a U.S. Department of Defense program to recruit, prepare and support former military personnel who wanted to become teachers.
